  • Core Products International Honored with "Large Business of the Year" Award

Posted on May 16, 2013 by Core Products

Core Products has been honored by the Polk County Economic Development Corporation as their “Large Business of the Year.” The award will be presented during an awards luncheon at Paradise Landing on May 21st.

Core Products is proud to announce that they have been honored by the Polk County Economic Development Corporation as their “Large Business of the Year.” Core Products will accept the award during the Polk County EDC’s annual awards luncheon at Paradise Landing in Balsam Lake, WI on May 21st.

Core Products, which is based in Osceola, Wisconsin, has been a fixture in Polk County since moving from Minnesota in 1998. Since that time, they have manufactured and assembled their entire line of high quality, professional health care products in Wisconsin.

“We are thrilled to accept this award from the EDC,” said Philip Mattison, CEO of Core Products. “We have been proud to call Polk County home for the last 15 years, and we hope to spend many more here as we continue to work towards our goal of improving health and comfort in our customers’ lives.”

Core Products moved from Minnesota when Ken McAdams with Forward Wisconsin, toured owner Philip Mattison around several communities and introduced us to the business leaders in each community. "He explained the tax benefits and financing opportunities then introduced us to the people in the state that put all these programs together," said Mattison.

Core Products' partner Hollywog’s innovative WiTouch® and WiTouchPro® were recently recognized as “Best of the Best” in the category of product design at the prestigious 2013 red dot design awards. Core Products is the exclusive US distributor of the unique wireless devices, which incorporate TENS technology to specifically target back pain.

“The recognition that we at Core Products and our partners have recently received just solidifies our commitment to providing our customers at home and abroad with products of the absolute highest quality,” said Mattison. “While it is an honor to be recognized, the real satisfaction comes from knowing that the products we provide make a positive impact on the quality of life of our customers.”

The Polk County EDC was formed in 2004 to build and maintain a strong economic base in Polk County through local business growth and expansion throughout Polk County.

  • Core Products WiTouch Wireless TENS Wins Red Dot, Best of the Best Award

Posted on March 20, 2013 by Core Products

Core Products International celebrates the recent achievement of WiTouch® and WiTouchPro®, the first wireless remote controlled pain relief devices incorporating TENS technology to specifically target back pain. As the exclusive US distributor of Hollywog’s innovative product, they are happy to share the news of WiTouch® being awarded the “Best of the Best” in the product design category from the red dot design awards.

Since 1955, these awards have subjected newly released products to the ultimate evaluations from the most discerning juries. This year, more than 4,500 products competed for the coveted award that WiTouch® received. Recognized for its smart and impressive product creation, WiTouch® now carries the honor of being one of the world’s most renowned award recipients. The WiTouch received clearance from the FDA for over-the-counter and prescription use in 2012.

“We are honored to achieve the “red dot: best of the best” designation for our WiTouch products,“
said Chuck Thomas, President of Hollywog. “WiTouch and WiTouch Pro are the first wireless remote controlled pain relief devices incorporating TENS technology to specifically target back pain, and this prestigious award exemplifies our dedication to unique design and high quality to evolve ordinary medical devices to extraordinary levels. I am very proud of the Hollywog team and our development partners based in Australia: Katapult Design and Procept. Our global collaboration defines the standard for design and development required to succeed in today’s global market.”

Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the red dot, has pointed out that strong design competence and economic success nowadays go hand in hand: “The winners of the ´red dot award: product design 2013´ are the protagonists of a highly developed design culture and design industry. These days it is becoming more and more difficult to distinguish between well‐designed products. It is often only in the details that the special qualities become apparent. However, those product creations that pass the test before the critical eyes of the international red dot jury will not disappear into the crowd and will be able to fend off global competition.”

As a winner in this competition, WiTouch® is guaranteed global visibility. Because on 1 July 2013, all eyes of the top names in international design will be focused on Essen, Germany. The red dot gala in the Aalto Theater is always the final highlight of the “red dot award: product design”. Over the past years, the awards ceremony has become established as a celebratory ceremony with international guests. WiTouch Pro will then be put on display during a four‐week special exhibition in the red dot design museum. The Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen displays the award‐winning products in the red dot design museum for at least one year.

  • Core Products Shares 5 Product Purchasing Tips for February’s Wise Health Care Consumer Month

Posted on February 26, 2013 by Core Products

In honor of Wise Health Care Consumer Month, the pain relief product providers at Core Products International are sharing universal ways to be smart about health care purchases.

    (PRWEB) February 26, 2013

February’s Wise Health Care Consumer Month celebrates ways to make smart decisions about health care services and products. There are five things a smart consumer should keep in mind when buying health care products, according to Core Products International. As a leading provider of pain relief products to distributors and consumers for more than 25 years, Core Products has seen wise and unwise health care trends come and go. Based on their experience, they have compiled the following five tips:

    1.     Find products and services that target specific pain. Products that try to do too many things, can sometimes end up doing nothing. Products addressing a specific pain point, like the WiTouch - wireless low back pain relief device using TENS technology, usually have a sophisticated and effective design.

    2.     Look for seals of approval. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services oversees the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which review products before they go to market. While a company may claim to have certain approvals, wise health care consumers know to check the FDA’s website on what the term “FDA cleared” means and what it applies to.

    3.     Avoid unproven trends. Fads can be fun, but also dangerous, especially when it comes to personal health. Smart consumers know the time-tested methods, such as applying a cold compress to a sore muscle, can be more effective in helping reduce pain. Core Products advises consumers to seek guidance from a medical professional before trying the latest fad.

    4.     Made in the USA labels are an indicator of high quality products. An ABC affiliate news station recently reported that: “A 2012 survey by the Boston Consulting Group found that more than 80 percent of U.S. consumers are willing to pay more for a product with a "Made in America" label. 85 percent of those consumers thought American products were better quality.”

    5.     Keep a list of what products and services are covered by insurance. Certain health care providers allow for a limited amount of reimbursements on specific health related products and services. Savvy shoppers hold onto receipts and compare them with their health insurance plan when they get home.

According to the American Institute of Preventive Medicine, “studies show that Americans spend more time researching car purchases and new appliances than they do choosing doctors and health plans.” Core Products hopes that these five tips will lead consumers into a healthier direction.
