Core Products International, Inc. Acquires Morfam, Inc.
Osceola, Wisconsin June 9, 2005 - Core Products International, Inc., the industry leader in orthopedic and comfort care products, announced that it has acquired Morfam, Inc., the manufacturer of the Jeanie Rub® Massager.
"Morfam is an excellent company that has established itself as a premier manufacturer of professional massage therapy products," said Philip Mattison, president and founder of Core Products. "Our customers and Morfam’s customers are served by the same distribution network, so this acquisition is a natural fit."
Morfam, based in Mishawaka, IN, has been manufacturing massage equipment since 1966. Its two most popular products are the Jeanie Rub Single Speed and Jeanie Rub Variable Speed massagers.
"Health care professionals nationwide recognize Jeanie Rub massagers as the standard by which all massagers are judged," Mattison said.
Core Products is based in Osceola, WI, with an additional manufacturing facility in Chetek, WI. Founded in 1988, Core Products is best known for its high-quality Tri-Core® family of cervical support pillows, CorFit® System back supports and Sitback Rest® back cushions.
The company also produces extremity braces and hot and cold therapy products.
"Staff members from both companies will be at the Mishawaka facility the next few weeks as they work to consolidate operations and to ensure that there is no interruption in supply or service," Mattison said. "Manufacturing, operations and sales will eventually be relocated to Core facilities. Sue Morey, Morfam CEO, will work with Core through the transition period and continue to work on a consulting basis thereafter."
