Performance Wrap Knee Brace

This knee support’s patented, four-way tensioning system provides a custom fit for a multitude of knee problems including patellar subluxation, degenerative knees, infrapatellar tendonitis (jumper’s knee) and mensical pain. Allows you to easily vary the tension, giving maximum support to the patella and knee joint without hinges.

The wraparound design is easy to apply and wear, providing an open space behind the knee joint with no binding or bunching. Offers best all-around support, also ideal for minor strains, sprains and arthritic conditions, and aids weak or injured knees.

Constructed from one-eighth-inch neoprene with a nylon cloth lining and high-quality hook-and-loop straps, the Performance Wrap gives you comfortable support and compression through a full range of motion. Features dual spiral stays increase medial and lateral support, and a removable felt buttress pad provides added adjustability and support.

Wide popliteal (back of knee) cutout design allows for better blood flow and is cooler than traditional unhinged braces. Can be worn over clothing. Available in two sizes; regular fits up to 22" (56cm) thigh and 17" (43cm) calf, Husky fits up to 27" (68cm) thigh and 20" (50cm) calf.

Measurement

• Snug Fit Measurement:  Devices are sized at a compressed fit.
  • Measuring loose vs. skin tight can be 2-2 ½ inches.
• Knee Circumference
• Calf, Knee Cap, Thigh, Thigh Length
• Can be dictated by support used.

Fitting

• Fit from the front of the knee to the back of the knee.
• Best fit is from sitting position with knee in slight bend.
• Fit the opening for knee cap slightly higher on the knee cap.  Approximately the upper half of the knee cap.  The tendency is to wear the support too low.  When fitted, brace will slide down into proper position.
• Upper part of support should be higher to groin area. (braces have tendency to slip down so fit higher)
• Straps below the knee closest to the knee cap should be adjusted first.  If brace is fitted correctly, the calf will hold the position of the brace as the strap just below the knee will be tightened with a smaller circumference than the calf.
• Adjust tension on the blue “Four-Way Support System” or “Blue Wings” for maximum compression and proper knee cap alignment and seating. Grabbing tabs opposite each other creates equalized tension across the knee cap.

Post Fitting

• Make sure brace has been fitted with appropriate strap tightness and has not slid down leg too far.
• Upper part of the brace should not dig into groin area
• Add compression from straps starting with just below knee first and working bottom to top
• Decrease compression from top to bottom
• Disengaging Velcro and securing tabs prior and after wearing will help with future fitting.
